DIRTY
DIAPERS
By
Anthony Michaud
I
love the way she smiles at me.
When
she laughs she’s as sweet as can be.
We’re
teaching her to crawl. I
don’t mind at all.
She
has a few teeth and the cutest little feet.
She’s
learning to drink from a cup.
She
raises her hands to be picked up.
She’s
learning to say a word or two.
I’m
teaching her the colors red and blue.
CHORUS
I
share my Cheerios with her everyday.
I
like her in most every way.
But
I just can’t stand those
Dirty
diapers, dirty diapers
Could
you stop wearing those dirty diapers!
I
love to read her picture books.
Sometimes
she gives me funny looks.
Mom
says at times, “Let’s send her back!”
I
say, “Don’t worry, she’ll get back on track.”
CHORUS
Mom
says I had dirty diapers, too.
I
don’t know if this is true.
At
times I try to hold my nose.
It’s
just like smelling stinky toes.
